OJSC “The Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development” is acting under License № 216 issued by the National Bank of Ukraine as of 29.12.2007. The license entitles UBRD to provide a range of bank services stipulated in the first part and items 5-11 of the second part of Article 47 of the Law of Ukraine “On banks and bank activities”, and to act as below:
- to open deposit accounts for legal entities and physical persons
- to open current accounts for Clients and Correspondent banks for payment settlements
- to place amounts received in one’s name and under own terms and risks
- to provide guarantee and take other commitments that should be carried out moneywise on behalf of the third party
- to have “chose in action” of enforcing payment of debt for delivered goods or provided services and to take the risks of such payments being executed and due amounts obtained (factoring)
- to provide leasing facility
- to provide services of safe custody and rent of safe deposit boxes for valuables and documents
- to issue, purchase, sell and operate cheques, bills and other payment instruments
- to issue banking cards and service cards operation
- to provide consultation and information relating to bank operations
The Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development received formal permission of the National Bank of Ukraine № 216-1 dated 29.12.2007 stipulating the right to provide some operations with free currency and securities, namely:
Currency operations:
- to operate accounts of Resident and Non-Resident clients in foreign currency and Non- Resident accounts in the Ukrainian Hryvna
- to open and operate correspondent accounts in free currency in authorized banks of Ukraine
- to attract and place free currency at the foreign exchange market of Ukraine
- to issue own securities
- to purchase and sell securities on behalf of the client
- to trade securities at the market in the bank’s own name (underwriting included)
- to operate at the money market on behalf of the client and/or in the bank’s own name with financial instruments based on currency exchange rates, interests, futures and options
Stock market activities:
The Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development also holds License № 393971 dated 11.03.2008 of the State Commission on Stock Market and Securities enabling the bank to trade securities and perform the following stock market activities:
- brokerage
- underwriting
- dealer’s services
